Cramps, Awards, University... Oh My.

What worries me the most right now is that I don't have ANY IDEA where I will be in 5 years.. or in 10 years. I still dont know what field I want to go into in University. I still dont know what I want to do with my life. Is this a bad thing? Should I be worrying? People say "ya whatever, you're in grade 11" but the thing is.. grade 11 ends next ( Read more... )

I'm 22 and I still have no idea what I want to do. I refuse to go to college until I know what I want to do for the rest of my life - I see no point spending thousands of dollars and then changing my mind half way through :S

i think university should only be paid for if you use whatever degree you get.. if the education that you get actuallly helps you out in life.. that way, if you dont like the field you are going into, even if you drop out it's not like you paid for anything =] that would be perfect

I don't know where in Canada you live but here they keep doing cut backs. My friend who's been in university for 5 years - his degree was just canceled. No money back. No degree. Nothing. It's a messed up world. (I'm on Vancouver Island, BC)

I just graduated high school and even though I pretty much know exactly what major and everything I want [I have pretty much always known what I wanted to do though], there are still soooo many people that I know of that have NO idea what major they want. So, just don't stress about it. =] I recommend you look up information online about jobs you might be interested in. You mentioned nursing, so can you handle being around a lot of possibly nagging patients all day? Could you handle seeing blood maybe? Do you think you could give someone a shot? Just make questions out for yourself and weigh the pros and cons of the situation and the major/career you might want. [Just a suggestion though!] =]

That's awesome you have a hockey team at your school. I don't think any of the schools have hockey teams.

haha thanks! ya i dunno about those nagging patients lmao.. but im fine with blood and all that. Of course we have a hockey team... I live in northern ontario (way up north in canada) and its one of the only things to do 3/4 of the year haha

That's a common thing. Some people really aren't sure and that's fine. You know, that might even be a good thing. You know why that is? You take general studies and get pieces of everything then see what you like and go with it. It's a good idea to play around with many options. So I don't think you should worry at all.

I'm 18 and have friends who STILL don't know what they want to do. Their going to get degrees in different areas that intrest them and that's totally fine!

I totally worried about college's and stuff this year!! I so know where your coming from! let me tell you this and it might sound bad but it's the truth. You'll never not get accepted to a college/universitiy, the want your money. Believe me, they'll take you. I know people who had 30's for grades and they took 'em. So don't worry about that ;)

Lucky you! She relized her mistake and is trying to make up for it now. I'm so jealous! lolz!

don't worry, a lot of people worry about where they will be in the future. worry not cause soon it will come to you once you start looking into stuff that interests you. nursing and physical thearapy are great fields! it's not a bad thing to be unsure of what you want to study. there are some people who are in their late 20's who don't know what they want to do in life [which is kinda weird but anyway]... and even if you pick something that doesn't work out, you could always change your career. people say you can't change your mind once you decide on a college major but they are wrong!
