I'm so so so sick of people telling me I have no future because I'm going to a Cal State. But everyone else is, because they're going to a UC..or going to Elco and transferring. Am I seriously going to fail in life because I didn't go to UCLA? Am I really going to get a lower paying job strictly on the basis of a Cal State degree? Am I forever ( Read more... )

they will have no future because they are too busy worring about other peoples lives.

exactly. there's no point lecturing me about MY future, or lack thereof, when they are the ones who "are getting the better job."

My uncle went to CSLB and his wife went to CSLA... right now, they are both ridiculously rich and successful.

Yeah, my dad went to CSDominguez Hills and he owns 2 of his own businesses..supported our family in a 5-bedroom house on one income for years. so HA!

When I went to UCSB last weekend everyone was like "ooooooooh you go to a community college?" like they are the shit and I am not?

Yeh well beth you know i am not goign to any in state school so i guess i could agree with what your saying because people are like oh you rgoign to a college i never heard of and i am like so i want to go there and i got accepted and i really didnt care to go to a california school so stop thinking your so much better because you are going to some california school. I hate when people think they are better than you when if you applied to the same college you most likely could have gotten in also...or if you couldnt like it matters to us because as long as we get whatever we are going to college for we will make our lifes how we want them to be

exactly! it's so annoying when people are like "yeah I'm going to USC or UCLA" like it's the best school there is..just because it's well known. grr!

i was going to go to a cal state if i hadnt gotten into notre dame, calpoly slo to be specific.
and thats not like, 'HEY, YOUR SCHOOL WAS MY SECOND CHOICE.'
what im saying is, i got into the UCs, and i was going to CHOOSE to go to a calstate. college isnt about training for a good job. it ISNT ABOUT THAT. there are plenty of folks that didnt even go to high school and are millionaires.
i know for a fact that cal state dominguez hills has one of the best teaching programs in california.
a cal state.
people need to get over names. because i can tell you, i go to notre dame, one of the "premiere universities in the nation" and its DEFINITELY not the time of my life.
