He makes a compelling case that a lot of thought went into the thematic underpinnings of the script. Unfortunately, Lindelof and Scott dropped the ball about five thousand fucking times while trying to wrap a sensible, believable plot around these ideas. The direction and writing are almost shockingly sloppy on a superficial level and there's no damn reason for it. I could have loved this movie but the more I think about it the more disappointing it is.
