Thank you, I don't deserve that. All I really meant from this is that I look back sometimes and am flabbergasted to have made it through so much opposition (and also that so much opposition exists just for this path)
That's so juicy to consider! Is it a contributing factor that your mom supported you? Like, that you could think, Who cares what you think, if my beloved mother thought this was good for me?
Her unconditional support, especially just when I was graduating high school and going to college, was the biggest factor in the path that my life took. She passed away a month before I went to college

I have been a 'lurker' on your journal for a few months now. I come from a background of numbers and spreadsheets so it is nice to see someone who lives an interesting, creative life.
I always assumed you (and anyone else who was a musician/artist type) had to work your butt off to get anywhere. But I never thought of the "being a woman" aspect. I didn't even realize there were 'typically male' or 'typically female' instruments! Now I just think you are even more awesome than I initially assumed.
