After Class 8/? - The Next Day

John’s slumber had been erratic all night. He couldn’t seem to push the images of him and Rodney together from his head. He groaned, seeing Rodney, naked, sweaty, pliant beneath him. Dammit! He rolled his neck from side to side and stretched, relieving the tension from his muscles. He rolled out of his bed and went over to his daughter’s crib. Upon seeing that she was sleeping soundly he walked to the bathroom.
He stripped off his boxers and turned on the shower. He waited until the water was warm enough before stepping into the shower cubicle. He gently lathered the soap over his body, letting his mind drift to the night before. He smiled unconsciously. Rodney had been such a gentleman on their date, and the kiss was amazing. John could get used to kissing Rodney.
His hand slipped lower and grabbed his throbbing member. He gently ran his hand along the shaft, imagining it was Rodney’s hand instead of his own. The picture of Rodney in the shower with him, all soapy and wet made him speed up his movements. He ran his thumb over the head of the shaft and groaned when he came, letting Rodney’s name fall from his lips. He quickly cleaned himself off and jumped out of the shower.
After dressing himself he went to check on Ella. She was now awake and trying to stuff her foot in her mouth. John gently took her foot from her mouth and picked her up. He took her to the changing table in her nursery and changed her diaper. He dressed her in pink dungarees and a white baby tee before taking her downstairs.
John made breakfast for him and Ella, and then gave her a stuffed toy to play with while he made a phone call. He dialled the familiar number and on the third ring someone answered.
“Hi, Mama,” John had always been quite a mommy’s boy, ever since he was little. He phoned her daily to check she was okay and keep her updated on Ella, but with all the stuff that had happened recently, he had neglected to call.
“Hi, Honey how are you? How’s the new job?” His mom was always concerned about him.
“I’m fine, so is Ella. The job, well the job…” He paused and bit his lip. Should he be honest?
“The job is brilliant.” He lied. He didn’t want to worry his mother.
“Oh, that’s good, Honey. So, you made any friends there?” John grinned. Oh he’d made some friends.
“Urm, yeah, there’s this one guy, Rodney.” He heard his mother laugh.
“Is he a good kisser?”
“Ma! That’s weird. Don’t ask me that. And I never said we were dating, I just said we were friends.”
“Oh, Honey, I can read you like a book. You like him, don’t you?” John stifled his groan.
“Yeah. We went out last night.” He could picture his mother now, standing in the living room bouncing on the balls of her feet and mentally planning his wedding.
“So, what’s he like?”
John sighed dreamily. “He’s perfect. He’s such a gentleman. He adores Ella. Did I mention he is absolutely gorgeous?”
June smiled. She was happy her son had finally met someone. John had been lonely since he was young; always knowing he was missing out on something. Maybe this Rodney would finally fill the void in her little boy’s heart.
“He sounds lovely, John. You should invite him over for dinner sometime.”
“But Mama, we’ve only been on one date.”
June gave in--who was she to try and push her son into something he didn’t want to do yet?
“That’s okay, Honey, but the offer is there if you change you mind.”
“Thanks, Mama.”
June thought it was time to change the topic; she didn’t want to interrogate John too much. “So how’s my beautiful granddaughter, and when are you gonna bring her to visit her grandmother?”
“Oh, she’s doin fine, Mama, getting bigger everyday. I’ll bring her down as soon as I possibly can, but you know you’re welcome to visit her anytime you want.”
June updated her son on everything at home, and they chatted idly about the news, Ella, and John’s stepbrothers, Adam and Andrew.
“Well, I better go, Mama. Love you!”
“I love you, too, Son, and give Ella a big kiss from me.”
John smiled at that. “Will do, Mama. Bye” He placed the phone down and took Ella from her high chair. He lay down on the sofa and Ella snuggled up to his chest. He sighed in contentment. Only one thing could make this even more perfect than it already was. Rodney.
