I found out about Solipsism today. It was quite interesting yet, it was one of the few Philosophical theories that there is a deep feeling that it is not right ( Read more... )

I've actually heard of this theory before...it's quite intriguing if you delve into it. Makes me think of the whole "if a tree falls in a forest..." thing for some reason lol.

I think Solipsism would make a great basis for parallel universes - if we are all experiencing our own reality at any given time, then theoretically, anything we can imagine to be true will become true at some stage. Hence, there isn't an infinite number of parallel universes as the population of Earth is finite. Well, this is making more sense in my head than it does here :P

Anyhoo...I'll shoosh now lol.

When I was in about 8th grade I had a theory almost the same as this. I wondered if I was the only true person, that everyone else was 'in on it' and were just actors in my life. I guess some huge version of the truman show (i havent seen it but i believe its to that effect).

That is a really interesting theory..
It has given me heaps to think about which is not a good thing because i am in the middle of writing my essay *hits you* hehe

Solipsism = delusions of grandeur much?

Reality is a very hard thing to prove
perhaps reality is indeed there it is more our interpreting it accurately is contesable?
