I can't believe you would ever willingly watch a debate involving Jimmy Swaggart...
Even if there was only one version, somehow proven by scientists to be indeed the handwriting of Moses himself and completely untouched and undamaged by translation into other languages (as all great texts are sadly diminished by translation), you still couldn't know for sure if it was the word of God - hence the idea of faith. You have to have faith that Moses/Jesus?the apostles/whoever were actually speaking God's will... and then, you have a greater problem with interpretation.
THOU SHALT NOT KILL
Sounds pretty straightforward... but then you get people saying "but that doesn't include animals / people suffering in pain / people who have killed your family members / pedophiles..." etc etc. And even if we knew for sure that was God's will, people would still argue what he meant by it.
