Do you think we are born with an identity?Are you asking me as a (semi-trained) psychologist, or as a mother

My opinion is that we are born with a basic personality that cannot be changed, and the rest of ourselves, we learn along the way. I guess you could liken it to a game of Pass the Parcel in a weird way. There's something in the middle and you probably already have a good idea of what it is but there are layers of ourselves that we need to strip away to find our true selves.

Circumstances, I believe, just bring out some aspects of our personalities more than other aspects.

we talk about this heaps at uni. Basically there are some things u inherit (genetics etc) then u are molded by situations in society, things u witness etc etc so u are partially a blank slate and partially molded by society, your parents, things on tv. etc. It's an interesting concept
