I have a big problem with it. And the 911 movie too. I think it could be noble if everyone can see it for free or if it's a fundraiser. Once you put a price tag to it. It ruins everything.
I'm ambivalent about it, but in the final analysis, I won't be seeing it myself. I think it's too soon for Hollywood to be profiting from this.
I don't know what a movie like this can tell me about 9/11 I haven't already learned from everything that has been said or written about it.
Comparing this with a movie set during the Civil War, Vietnam, or Pearl Harbor (all of which have been invoked to justify this movie) is a moot point. There are opportunities with both scenarios to use those events as a backdrop for other stories, but we can't really do that in this case.
And then there are the people who say they want to see it so "they won't forget." Well, I'm sorry, but if you need a movie to remember this...I can't help you.
No, you're not. I think it's incredibly tacky. No matter how good the reviews are, there is a movie studio making money on the story and I think that's kinda disgusting so soon after the tragedy.

I go to the movies to escape reality, not be confronted with it.
