My whopper of a doozy Wiscon 39 report

It's done! It's all over! I can finally relax!!! Actually, no I can't because my brother in law comes in two weeks but ALL MY CONS ARE DONE (for now).

This was the most intense con season I had. Not so much because of the work I had to do as WisCon's GoH Liasion for Alaya Dawn Johnson. That was fun and easy. A big part of it had to do that that ( Read more... )

Interesting stuff! I've never been to a Wiscon--it always sounds very intense!

I did eight books with Jim Frenkel and met with him numerous times. I thought he might be aspie, with ADHD (which later turned out to be the case) and so adjusted my social interaction accordingly, but he was never unprofessional. This is not to denigrate or disbelieve anyone else's experience. Just, if he shows up at a con near me, and asks me to join him for lunch, I'll continue as I did. I feel really uncomfortable about group shunning, especially when I get this air of righteousness about it, on the other hand, women have been targets so long that . . . I don't know. Sharp ambivalence about the subject. But the human being in specific I will continue to think of in a professionally friendly way.
