2015 Year in Review: Busyness, Burnout, and Balance

People are asking me, "So, will you be at such-and-such-con this year? You should really come to so-and-so-con!"

At first, I would say, "maybe". Then it was more "I don't know. And now? Honestly, it's more "I don't want to do this con thing anymore..." I could chalk it up to finances, but really, Jaym put in perfect words what I've been feeling for ( Read more... )

<3 Balancing this stuff is so hard, and it keeps shifting, too. It hardly seems fair! But it sounds like you are finding equilibrium again.

The only con I feel fairly certain about inclusivity is Sirens, which seems so far to have escaped the toxic vein that keeps plaguing WisCon from what I keep hearing.

That said, withdrawing and concentrating on the writing, the stuff you can control, yeah. Makes great sense.

Do what you have to do to keep your equilibrium and take care of yourself. I know full well that sometimes it feels like you should do more, but writing and submitting really is all you can actually control. There's so much randomness and stuff that's not about you in the mix. And life is too short to waste time on drama.
