So, in response to the reply I previously posted here, he says this:

I, in turn, reply with this:

Yes, a computer is a deterministic mechanism, and therefore, for a user outside its system to have any influence, there has to be some defined input path, such as a keyboard or a mouse.

For a god to have any control, there has to be some method of input. Thousands of years ago, the input was thought to be direct, coming in the form of weather or luck. With today's knowledge, there doesn't seem to be much room for an input path. Even the world of quantum mechanics, where many factors seemingly operate on random chance, still ends up following specific odds and statistics, suggesting an underlying deterministic system.
