"Sultans of Swing" by Dire Straits sketches a nice portrait of the Sultans and mentions their instruments, but except for Guitar George's (he knows all the chords!), these instruments are not employed by Dire Straits in performing the song, nor is the song itself in the style of the Sultans. I am fond of a Nitty Gritty Dirt Band recitation of The Mountain Whippoorwill by Stephen Vincent Benet, which is about a ferocious duel between fiddlers. John McEuen plays banjo. It seems to me that if your song is about really transcendentally good fiddle playing, you are wise not to accompany it with a violin, which may suffer by comparison to the fiddlers in your lyrics.
This is violated in the later dumbed-down 1979 Top 40 hit by Charlie Daniels and his band, "The Devil Went Down to Georgia," which does feature a violin solo.

Are there any songs about zeusaphones?

As for songs about Zeusaphones, I kind of think that you'd be a good person to write that one.

Ask Tullio to tell you about the time we had a competition at IsherCon that emulated this film... Jim Fuerstenberg won, IIRC.
