Gimp Scripting
I'm trying to write a Gimp script that will perform an operation on all of the files in a given directory, but I can't figure out how to get a listing of all the files in a given directory from within Gimp. What little documentation I have been able to find makes reference to an 'open-dir-stream' function, but it doesn't look like Gimp 2.6's ( Read more... ) -
Thoughts on The New Year and Socializing
Botheration. I can't decide whether I really don't want to go out and do something this evening, or whether I'm just being avoidant. On the one hand there are lots of things that I'd like to do around the house (three of them being Portal, Audiosurf, and Metroid Prime ^_^) and it seems like it might be fitting to try to get some kind of filing ( Read more... ) -
Ponderings on Belief and Understanding
I'm currently enjoying The Little Schemer as a way to attempt to learn more of the Lisp/Scheme programming paradigm. It's been a useful book for me so far, in that I'm 30 pages in and haven't yet had to stop and go, "Wait, WTF?!"*

Write a bit of code that will monitor processor usage and output a corresponding signal to, say, a serial or parallel port, where it is interpreted by something connected to a gauge of some sort (either a retrofitted pressure gauge or an old-style voltmeter) that then makes the hand of the gauge point to the corresponding level of processor usage. -

Well that was an adventure!
I've just survived my first graduate course ever that I have taken towards a Master's degree. At least I am reasonably certain that I survived it--grades will hopefully be up on Monday, and the odds are currently looking pretty decent. I mentioned a few times throughout the course that I was putting far more work in ( Read more... ) -
