for normal decks: two choice cards, two random cards
normal decks of 40 or more cards: four choice cards, four random cards
special decks of 8-12 cards: two choice cards, two random cards
special decks of 13-17 cards: three choice cards, three random cards
special decks of 18-20 cards: four choice cards, four random cards
Please note that this assumes your choice cards will be normal cards -- if you'd like to choose a special card instead, it will take two of your choices, rather than just one!
