Missing Waffle. A long-ass post about cats.

So this morning when I got up, Waffle wasn't around. I was actually somewhat plussed about this because he is usually right under foot and sort of annoying in the bathroom. He brings toys in and pushes them at your feet until you throw them, pads at the shower door but doesn't actually want in, he's generally just pretty fussy in the morning ( Read more... )

I've ben struggling with this over Clover, too. Since we have a fenced in yard, she's now indoor/outdoor. I'd rather she not go fussing about the neighborhood bringing all the boys to the yard, as it were. But I figure if she does wander off or hop the fence, (insert hilarious image of Clover-the-Hut hopping a 4 foot high fence), we know she'll be okay and come home.

Well, at least I'd hope. =/

Hahaha! That is a great mental picture.
I will say that having Waffle has done a world of good for Puzzle's figure. She was so lay prior to Waffle's arrival that she'd attempt to jump on something (even relatively low areas like the couch), not quite nake it, and not even bother trying again. She'd just mew a bit and wait to be picked up, which of course Griffin did. Now that Waffle chases her all the time, she's a gymnast again.

Sounds like you have a real issue here - our cats venture forth occasionally do do their business outside but they mainly stay in. They more or less have the run of the house apart from the living room and dining room during the day so they manage to find some kind of place away from one another.

From your past experience, I'd say keep waffle indoors but maybe take him out on a leash or something???

We take them out on the deck occasionally with a lead, but Puzzle hates the thing and usually just sits down in protest. Waffle wriggles out of the body harness after a while... I guess we just need to get him a better one. :) Thanks for the confirmation- I think I'll just have to keep knocking him back each time I come in the house.
