(For what it's worth, I wear a skirted tankini because then I don't feel like I'm running around in my underwear and am hence willing to walk the half mile to the beach or stop in dollar general on the way back, and don't worry about whether I've shaved. I actually had more time in the ocean on this trip than I have in the past 10 years. I don't get in the ocean much in general because I hate being beat-to-death by the waves, don't enjoy when the ocean is cold, hate sand in my crotch and burn to a crisp even with sunblock.
But going down to the ocean in the AM, with a hat and plenty of sunblock was great with the water so warm and calm. I actually got down to the beach three mornings and got in the ocean every time it was so nice.
