Green Card and Flying

Congrats on the green card! Flying has always been expensive. I
thought $3 per hour for a 65 HP Aeronca Champ and $5 an hour for my instructor was expensive. You should be getting a modern airplane with a glass panel and a professional instructor for what you're paying.

I joined a flying club which had 4 airplanes and also bought some block time (an Aeronca Chief seaplane which I flew off of Lake Union)
to save on flying costs after I had my PPL.

You can see a good picture of my airplane by Googling N5108A. You could fly it if you lived down here. No glass panel though! It doesn't even have electric flaps or fuel injection. It has a 180 HP engine though just like the new 172s.
