Code Geass Final Impressions

Having finished both R1 and R2, I'd have to say Code Geass is one of my favorite shows to this day.
Though it's not without it's glaring flaws and is definitely not a masterpiece, it still holds a place as one of my favorites.

One major problem Code Geass has in it's story, is that it doesn't know when to actually kill people.
Save for the one or two people who actually die before the story's finale, they usually end up coming back to life. And I'm like, "What?"

Another issue is Lelouch's reasoning in season 2. After Rolo killing Shirley, he blames Geass for Shirley's death, and plans to kill Rolo while enacting his revenge.
But the plot goes belly side up, and he tries and tries again to rid himself of Rolo, murderer of possibly Lelouch's only love. Yet, near the end he forgives Rolo after Rolo saves his live through sacrifice?
Hell no, you were supposed to kill Rolo. It makes sense to respect him, and forgive him to some extent. You don't go talking to yourself saying that Rolo may not be Lelouch vi Brittania's brother, but Lelouch Lamperouge's?
NO.

Euphemia should have never been Geass'd.
Suzaku should never have used FLEIJA.
The Black Knights should have never betrayed Lelouch.

Finally, what I wanted to get to was about Lelouch's "death".
No matter what anyone says, Lelouch had died. Regardless of whether or not he gained immortality through killing Charles, Lelouch can never show himself in public anymore.
Especially his sister. He's ended in exile from the people he wanted to save from such a cruel world.

I personally believe Code Geass has two endings.
1) He sacrifices himself for real for the good of the world, and actually dies.
2) He sacrifices himself, but lives through immortality.

The ending was written rather ambiguously and can easily be interpreted either way. The first option is the better story, but the second option is easier on the viewer, as they can simply get past the dread of a dead Lelouch.
I think the 2nd option is a fantasy, set there to ease the pain of people that Lelouch, didn't in fact really die.
But it doesn't matter, for all that matters is that Lelouch had died through self sacrifice in the last episode, regardless if he gains immortality or not.
