Zig DOES have a period chair that isn't TERRIBLY uncomfortable if you put a cushion on it. If you'd like to borrow it, let me know!

Thank you. I remember someone mentioned it yesterday but I was a bit distracted...LOL
I would like to borrow it for the vigil. How big is the seat? When it gets closer to Jan, I will contact you about when and how to pick it up...

If people offer to help, ask them to bring a bit of food. Unless you've already got that covered. If lots of people just bring one thing then you'll have a nice selection and don't have to worry about it yourself.

Raito did three vigils (ugh) before his elevation. I'll keep thinking on it - let me know if you have any questions. It's really not too hard to do well.

In addition to food, if folks want to help, ask for things like napkins, disposable plates, disposable cups for beverages (if you're going to be serving liquid refreshments), and the liquid refreshments themselves. A portable garbage bag holder (something like the take apart laundry hampers that Eithni had at a Pennsic I was at) and garbage bags to keep the vigil area tidy.

Also, when I did Faerisa's vigil, I had very little in the way of offers before the day, however the day of, all this food magically appeared out of nowhere. So be prepared for the food elves.

OH, garbage bag holder...thanks for that suggestion - I was wondering about that earlier today...
and for the other suggestions. I am going to write everything down in my notebook (my best way to organize - make lots of lists!)

You know, I presume you have done this, but the first thing to do is to sit down and ask Ivan what he has always dreamed of having for his elevation. :-)
