Election come an gone

I am really amazed how close some of the races get. One northern Saskatchewan riding is only seperated by 106 votes!

I talked to a friend of mine in BC. She's rather upset with the elections. Looks like y'all will be facing another coalition goverment that can't do anything. She commented "Now I know how you Americans felt when W was re-elected".

Well politics is politics.
What I don’t like is that it is going to be tough for the conservatives to do much. Canada is a very left wing place, the conservatives will have very little support. It is going to be tough to make this workable. In the last minority the Liberals needed support from the NDP. The fact is that the Liberals have been moving farther and farther to the left so it wasn’t too much of a stretch for the NDP to support Liberal efforts.
The conservatives on the other hand are more right of center that any other party, even having said that they would still be considered left wing nuts in the States! The right in Canada has a real strange recent past, they were almost Eastern Canada against Western Canada. This is the first election in probably 15 years that they didn’t split the right.
