today my professor asked if anyone had read "the windup bird chronicle" during the movie viewing because it featured some parts about Manchuria.

I love that book! I went on a big Murakami kick awhile ago -- you should read AFter Dark too!

Yeah, I'm definitely planning on reading more of his stuff-- i was thinking i'd start with "kafka on the shore" and then go from there. I'll def keep your recommendation in mind =)

I love winning approval from professors as proxies of parental figures! LOOK AT ME I'M RAISING MY HAND DO YOU LOVE ME YET.
I wish I could say I was making fun of you, but I'm dead serious. I need professors to recognize my superiority over my peers.

haha, yeah i'm usually not that way, but it's a japanese film class, and literally everyone is one of those japan-obsessed, anime-loving, nerd (NTTAWWT) and i feel left out.
