well, he won a few awards for the movie. I thought he was perfect. His character is based on a real person, and the play makes fun of him (since he was anti gay, but clearly gay), so they made him look ridiculous at the end. I think you think his character was too much. Because if you see the play, an actor playing his part will pretty much be same. Although, not as good as Pacino. But my favorite character is the black gay man. He has the best lines.
