However, I am throwing other stuff out, so perhaps there'll be lead in the stuff I throw out. I know--I'll put it into the mixed-paper recyclables *rolls eyes* ya just can't win. Maybe the EPA will review this and make a recommendation to the Consumer Safety folks.
Of course, we'll all be dead by then, and the books will outlive us.

Scaremongering would make me laugh if it wasn't so damned effective on so many other people. It crosses that fine line between funny and sad.

Scaremongering just gets me angry, for the reason you state--it exploits many people's feelings of vulnerability. I resent it when I become aware of anyone's nurturing someone else's weakness by such manipulative means. It's something that never leads to a good outcome.
This entry also made me think of the giant Golden Book that your g.f. is reading in one of the userpics. Me burn that? Uhm...I don't think so!
