Arthur/Bane Warning: noncon, violence, torture anonymous July 26 2012, 03:51:08 UTC
Eames has some serious issues, like violent and angry issues. Normally Eames does a pretty good job of not letting this affect his life/behavior but in his subconscious these issues manifest in a projection he knows as Bane. No matter how hard he tries Eames can't control or get ride of Bane, only lock him up to a certain extent. Which works fine until the day the team is using Eame's subconscious to practice and Arthur gets separated from the other. Lost in Eames mind Arthur accidentally wanders into Bane's domain.

Thanks for the lovely prompt, nonnie! Hope you enjoy.

Death is the king of this world: 'Tis his park where he breeds life to feed him. Cries of pain are music for his banquet. - George EliotArthur opened his eyes to find himself seated at an outdoor cafe. The city looked like a blend between Paris and Vancouver, and Arthur smiled at how effortlessly Ariadne made it work. She had a natural understanding of dreams that, when combined with the experience from the Fischer job and these continued lessons, transformed into some of the most beautiful dreams he’d seen ( ... )

If this projection was self-aware, that made him a worse shade than Mal had been.
Oh shit oh shit oh shit!

This was a riveting start. Omg, so excited to read more.

Thanks for the comments! They made my dayBefore Arthur could react, Bane released one wrist and violently backhanded him. He had no time to recover before Bane pressed a hand against the side of Arthur’s head and slammed it into the brick wall next to them. Arthur had only just registered the pain from his split lip and the scrapes on his cheek from the wall when Bane gripped the back of Arthur’s collar and threw him roughly to the ground ( ... )

So good anonymous July 28 2012, 02:21:51 UTC
I honestly just sat here clutching my head yelling "That is so good over and over to the point that my friend looked over at me and told me to stfu.

But honestly. Let's first get around the fact that a) the characterisations are good as shit, b) the setting and flow of the story are good as shit even though its currently a short fill, c) the psychological underpinnings of the prompt are godtier because really, Eames with a suppressed part of his psyche that manifested itself as a purely malevolent projection that is pretty much like subconscious incarnate is so fucking loaded with goodness

and then this. Why have I never run across an Inception fic where the issue of going inside the mind of a projection was raised? That is a loaded implication if I ever saw one. So good. Need more.

omfg I've just read all of the parts you've posted and I'm ADDICTED to this!

Bane is fucking awesome in this *evil grin* I love how he thrashes Arthur around like he's nothing. Bane is as terrifying and creepy here as he was in the film.

Can't wait to see more!
