Yeah, I'm with you. I'm a little concerned about how social issues might turn out with a Democratic majority. But as to Iraq, maybe we'll move past that "stay the course" rhetoric.

Most of these new Democrats come from moderate districts so I doubt they'll do anything on the huge social issues. I just hope they do anything and breate some freaking life into the government.

I like discussing politics over LiveJournal about as much as a root canal, but I'll say this one thing:
After '04, we tried to push Social Security reform, and should have finished the job. Then we tried to push Immigration reform, and should have finished the job. No excuses for letting a minority bunch of whiny babies in Congress block legitimate reform initiatives that made sense. But as an employee of the DoD, my real concern lies on the '08 prez elections.
