The last two years of Kit’s life seem to have been dominated by winter. Filming Game of Thrones made it a part of his very psyche. ‘Winter is coming’, people say whenever they see him. His hair looks odd when there’s no snow in it.

They bag a second season and everyone is elated. Kit gets texts from his castmates, talking excitedly about getting together some time before filming starts again. They’re still scoping out locations and stuff, John tells him, casting new characters too. Fresh meat! Joe and Luke send him the rumours they’ve heard, including everyone from Keira Knightley to Jason Isaacs, each message more ridiculous than the last. Harry sends a congratulations mate! :D even though Kit knows he wishes he would be returning, too. Sooo excited!! sends Sophie, and Kit grins.

There’s no text from Richard but Kit pretends he doesn’t mind.

He sees the ads on television for Sirens and he realizes that’s the first time he’s seen Richard for months. He swallows his pride and leaves him a voice message right then and there from the

An adorable piece, really! Kit/Richard is a pairing I'm dying to explore and write fics about. Even if this is only a drabble, I think you've managed to characterize them both pretty well. And I love the way you merged the contrasts between winter and summer together!

I am going to be like a person above me and pull out this line:

'His hair looks odd when there’s no snow in it.'

Thing is, it is so simple. Such a simple little description but with the feel of the fic and the instant head space that you see Kit in, it just clicks everything together. It shows how involved he got. Long shoots like that, young actors, first time actors; that one line portrays exactly how invested they can become and how much, in a way, they end up living that character. I loved that.

All the text messages were cute and was a great way to bind everyone into such a short fic.

And then that last line is just perfect. Summer for the first time in forever. Yes. One can practically picture that metaphorical snow melting out of his hair. And I am probably sooooo reading far too much into it, but I see that as the wake up call as well. It's like, he's been miserable at home because filming is over and he lived that for two years so it was his life, but now he's finally snapped out of it, and him and Richard
