Your icon makes me think we're approaching things from different angles, but from as a Jack-centric watcher, I really, really liked it and I genuinely felt he wasn't too over-whelmed with manpain and had moments of genuine joy, especially relative to Gwen. Plus a lot of stuff blowed up really good.

And there's not disputing the awesome hotness of John Simm

So apparently Game of Thrones AUs are a thing for me now. In addition to my highschool one, I have a ballet!AU in the works.

Also I have THIS, which exists only because someone on the First Class kinkmeme wanted Xmen characters in the GoT 'verse. Only one part up so far, but this one may consume me...
