The Great British Bake Off

Sep 13, 2011 15:23

I have been meaning to post this here for weeks now. Is anybody else watching The Great British Bake Off? I feel the need to share my squee (and confusion over whether a brandy snap constitutes a biscuit or not)!

look at this thing look at it now

*loves Rob*

A brandy snap is totally a biscuit. It's made of the same things as biscuits, and they both get baked. Besides, if Mary Berry says it's a biscuit, who are we to disagree?

I can't decide if I love Rob, or want to bash his head into a wall, teach him time management and show him the wonders of clipping back his hair so it doesn't get into the food.

Yes, we must bow down to the superior knowledge of Mary Berry.

He's just so adorable and faily. I particularly love that when he does do something right, he's sort of surprised - like he wasn't expecting it.

Mary Berry is the Queen of All. :)

Are you on Twitter? There's a whole bunch of us who watch and tweet and make pervy comments about Rob. I'm WCSAngel on there, btw.

True, the surprise is pretty awesome.

Oh, absolutely.

And no I don't! Although now I am kind of tempted... :)

I watch The Great British Bake-Off! It makes baking seem very stressful. I actually find it to be quite edge-of-your-seat televsion - although maybe that says more about me than the show...

I agree, it's very edge of the seat. Particularly when we get this far through and we know all about the people and I've started to care. And the judging is just tense.

Ugh, best ever. I mostly started watching to appease my twitter feed but stayed for the cake/bread/other yummy things and for Rob and his pretty, faily self. I mean, HE IS SO FAILY. I'm still not entirely sure why he was let on the show except that he probably gave them his puppy dog eyes and they patted him on the head and promised him anything he asked.

I still haven't watched yesterday's episode but I know the results. It's all so tense!

I started watching for the cake. I may be slightly addicted to baking related television shows. Possibly.

SO SO FAILY. And that is probably what happened, expecially the headpatting.

Far too tense, and yet I CANNOT STOP.

I'm a baking show addict too (FOOD NETWORK CHALLENGE IS MY DRUG especially all the Jason & Joshua episodes). Cake solves all problems.

Exactly. As I said on twitter, "Don't tell Rob you're disappointed in him! Fairies will die! Unicorns will lose their horns! Puppies will cry!" I'm fairly sure it's physically impossible to be mean to him.

I get way too invested in reality TV anyway (it's mostly why people don't let me watch it and then slip up and suggest things and then realise their horrible mistake too late) so I'm always on the edge of my seat.

EXACTLY. CAKE IS MAGICAL.

I agree, even when I want to beat him over the head about time management, I feel like that I'm just being really mean.

Yes, I got over invested too, although mainly with food ones. Other reality TV I can't really stand. But food based? OH YES.
