A Pros Valentine: An Update on the Pros-WIP Community
Hi folks, as some of you may be aware, I absented myself from most of Pros Lj activity for what I consider to be sound and healthy reasons. But I still love Pros and still maintain some links, so for anyone interested in the creation of Pros fanworks, Lj notified me this month (sadly not quite in time for Valentine's) that I have been successful in my bid to resurrect the pros-wip community.
This is such new news that I haven't had time to update the Community profile or recruit any maintainers (obvs if you're up for helping out, I'd love to hear from you). But for anyone interested, my intention is that the community will be welcoming of Gen, Het and Slash poems, stories, vids, art and any other fanworks-in-progress you can come up with. I mean that, there aren't a lot of Gen and Het spaces for Pros folk and I want pros-wip to be one of them, as well as being a genuinely welcoming home to Pros Slash.
Obviously the community will be Pros centric, but I'm hopeful of making it happily tolerant of Pros writers segueing into discussions around frustrations common to their other fandoms. Written yourself into the same plot hole in both Harry Potter and Pros? I'm hoping the rebooted pros-wip will happily support you in clambering out of your common plot holes.
I'm determined pros-wip will be a safe space where dissenting opinions are respected and debated but not chastised. There are no 'right' ways to be a Pros fan.
I'm not sure about challenges and other activities yet, but I'm happy to consider all and any suggestions!
