I cleaned the shell tops today with bleach and you'd think since I've been getting these shoes year after year I'd finally realize that I should wear gloves because bleach eats away the first layer of skin and my hands burn. Nope, I never seem to remember that...and I'm sure I won't for the next time I clean them.

Perhaps you should venture over to Duane Reade and buy some less corrosive, actually safe sneaker cleanser. I think that would help.

She does. However, I don't drive and I'm impatient and I wanted them cleaned ASAP. But - yeah I should go for a less corrosive cleaner.
