Work....GRRRRRR

I am very relieved.  I have been dreading a conference with a particular family about their daughter.  The little girl has some developmental delays and it is obviouse that she is in need of services and I had been told that her parents have been resistant to it in the past

So, it had been agreed upon several months ago that my boss or some other supervisor would sit in this particular meeting with me since it was agreed by all that I shouldn't have to be the bad guy.  So, I've spent the year researching, keeping everyone updated, doing developmental checklists, planning...basically stressing myself out.  However, the entire time I'm being told "yeah, we'll be there to back you up."  So, the date was set two weeks ago...I made sure that someoen would be there. I was told yes, they would..just remind them.  So, today was the day. I mentioned to my boss that I would see her at 10 am for the meeting. "Oh, I won't be there..I have a training meeting?"  Really? Hmmm..interesting. So, as usual you are leaving your employees holding the bag.  You see last year, when she wanted another teacher to approach this family, she said she'd be there but didn't show up....which caused that teacher to chicken out and not mention anything to this family. Yes, things are always left to me.  Long story short....the meeting went great..the parents were VERY interested in the preschool special ed program and wanted to get their daughter enrolled pronto.  However,  I'm really ticked off that my boss is always pulling these stunts.  Hmmm..maybe if you actually honor your commitments to your employees we would want to the team players you say we aren't.  Providence seriously needs some better management screenings or something.  Yay! My first lj cut was successful. Also, I made some very yummy banana bread that reminds me of someone who loves pirates and cooking with rum. This banana bread -Jamaican Banana Bread to be exact- has rum, lime, and coconut added to it. This is my favorite banana bread ever.
