I work in a similar setting. I get them a pizza from Little Caesars every time they complete a class. As far as the music goes if I tell them they are being too loud they are expected to turn it down. The can also earn behavior points which they can spend on things like gift cards. Just make sure you set clear expectations on how they are supposed to behave in the classroom and all will go well.
I'll keep those reward systems in mind. How do you go about communicating expectations? With this environment, do you think a rules poster and consistent enforcement is enough? I don't think I'll be in the position where all the students are together at once to explain rules.
