Oh, and on June 2nd (the official start of my hiatus), Dib will find a Chinese Aster, a bundle of forget-me-nots, and a white rosebud, surrounded by a small bundle of wormwood. The flowers are tied around the stems with an intricately-embroidered handkerchief, and there is a small note attached that merely says "For Dib", in Johanna's handwriting.
The boquet has a special meaning in the Victorian language of flowers, or floriography. The way the flowers are arranged, along with their inherent meanings, leaves a message that says "Do not be discouraged by my absence, as I am thinking of you, and hoping that you shall think of me." The white rosebud is not part of the message, and simply expresses that Johanna knows little about love. Of course, unless Dib's researched and learned floriography, this will go right over his head ;3]
