When I announced to my parents that I'd be attending graduate school for music, they largely said "you're on your own," four years after having become rather apathetic and anxious about my choice to attend undergrad for things that wouldn't, as dad put it, "keep me in good clothes." Being excited about it was difficult, and I eventually had to realize I'm my own person, or at least I'd like to believe so.

You'll have no problems with the journey, I'm convinced, and even though it may be somewhat apathetic, your immediate family support system hasn't outrightly discouraged you. I don't know... Perhaps it's better for a parent or guardian to step back a few feet and be practical so that more bona fide emotional support, when it's needed, is genuine and in abundance... I'm just a masochist, though, so pay no mind. :)
