. . .if I see one more made for television story about some White teacher going into the inner city and making things all better, I'm going to scream. Dude. . .can we whitewash education anymore? No, I haven't denigrated your entire career. You don't think you're the "Great White Hope". You don't do your job in order to receive a pat on the back from "Whites" who couldn't imagine working in a school like "that". You do it because you have the desire to help; not because you want a pat on the back.

wurd up girl. i feel as a white teacher in a black school (oh wait- EXwhite teacher in a black school) that there is no great white hope and that the only purpose I serve at that location is to educate the babies to Understand why they are pissed off at whitey. singing to myself... gil scott, whitey's on the moon...
