Another year, another Halloween come and gone. For me Halloween has always been something of a two part holiday - one parts fun and candy and one parts remembrance and solemnity. A similar fate awaits many of the large asylums here in England. Decay or development. Some of the developments haven't been too bad. I live right next to one of them, described as 'Lombardo-Venetian' in style. It's an impressive wedding cake of a thing which used to have its own farm and brewery attached.
