I love my new job. So much.

But it can get a little boring.  So I've decided to alleviate the mind-numbing dullness of scanning through defective p53 genes for cancer-boosting mutations by pretending that I'm scanning X-genes for mutations that confer superpowers.

What kind of mutant power would you want?

...All of them. :D

But specifically--superstrength. Which actually does occur in humans with a doubly-defective myostatin gene. Which is totally nifty.

Haha, that just gave me a nerdgasm. I think I'd either go with flight or teleportation for the sake of convenience.

What is your career specifically called? I'm looking into the opition of doing medical research; If that's what you 're doing I want to know what the job is called. If there is a specific name for it. Thank you!

I'm a research technician, officially. It's an ideal position for someone like me, who's finished a bachelor's degree and wants some real work experience before going back to school. I want to teach high school for a living, so this is a temporary job (one to two years) before I get a teaching license.

Do you plan on doing research as a full career? Most people I know in the field go for a full PhD. I think you can also get by with a masters, particularly for jobs like lab manager and such.

Hope that helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

I think that helps, thank you.
Though I'm wondering if you want to research disease, (since I know Alzheimer's disease, and Cancer both have major research facilities) if that'd be a similar job to yours. It sounds kind of interesting to me.

Yeah, you can do different types o work. There's pure lab research, clinical research, etc. i'd look around for volunteering or tech jobs to get a feel for what you're interested in.
