But it can get a little boring. So I've decided to alleviate the mind-numbing dullness of scanning through defective p53 genes for cancer-boosting mutations by pretending that I'm scanning X-genes for mutations that confer superpowers.

Do you plan on doing research as a full career? Most people I know in the field go for a full PhD. I think you can also get by with a masters, particularly for jobs like lab manager and such.

Though I'm wondering if you want to research disease, (since I know Alzheimer's disease, and Cancer both have major research facilities) if that'd be a similar job to yours. It sounds kind of interesting to me.
