filming, lameness, and thoughts

Hey all - really am trying to participate in the filming a walk series, and dang it, it's not working great. Last weekend I took our Go-Pro camera (strapped to my chest) and we went on a hike in the redwood forest with the dogs. It was getting a bit late, so I knew it would be darkish in the forest, uh, yeah. But the worst part is that I can't ( Read more... )

oooh, I like all these, I'm going to think about it some more and write when I've decided.

As for the puppies. DAMN IT! (or Bugger, whatever). Lame dogs. I'm glad you were able to get a beach romp in with no signs of wear or tear... that's EXACTLY what will lame up Razor 90 % of the time. Something about running on sand... Hurts his feet.

thinking, thinking, thinking.

I'm super happy Teague has shown no signs of lameness since yesterday. Flyte, still lame. Her pads look good, I think it's her leg. Why, I don't know.

Yes, taking care of ourselves as a life long quest is my story too. The voices in our head, notice I say voices asI find them to be plural. So, you don't sound raving mad -I've yet to talk with anyone who doesn't have internal voices. I think the relevant question is usually are the voices inside or outside our heads- inside good, outside, not good. :)

I like your list, thanks.
As for avoiding processed foods - I have been toying with this for the last few weeks.I'm wondering if I need to stop this too. In particular, I'm thinking sugar, sugar as a culprit in me feeling crappy. It sounds like a big plunge - which is funny because I embraced no gluten, now I just need to go one step further, and that seems really hard and scary somehow.

I too wonder what "take care of yourself" means. Everyone tells you to do it, but then their definitions are sometimes skewed... so where do you go from there ( ... )

ohh, i like this. I have been trying to put this idea into practice with food. So,when i grab something to shove in my mouth, my question (ifI can get it out before I've eaten the food) is,what am I feeling right now? How does this food relate to what I'm feeling? Will it take care of what I need? That often gets me NOT to put whatever it is in my mouth. (Leading back to Tammy's list).

I procrastinate, though I'm better than i used to be. When I procrastinate I feel like crap, really crappy, and yet I do it. I think it's one of those self-sabotage things.... oh I love where this question has led this merry group.

See? Being an "honest" procrastinator is fine. Lots of people work better if they push a deadline, some (like you and me) make ourselves crazy. It can be a question of priorities. But in general, if I put my mind to it, I can get most of the important stuff done, and the self-satisfaction is WELL worth it (for me anyway). If I want to help myself feel ok, I just get stuff done.
