make sure you don't overdo it when you're working your lower body. like do a 5-minute or so cooldown on the bike before you go straight to the treadmill, and same with the treadmill. walk for like 5 minutes or so. also, do you stretch before and after workouts? it will help your muscles stay flexible and make them hurt less after workouts. if you end up going more often you should also try to vary your activities so you work out more than your lower body and don't wear out the muscles ( ... )

Actually, I think that this WILL help quite a bit. Thank you for the advice.

Though, I'm not sure about the Vitamin Water part. That stuff, while tasty, has a LOT of sugar in it.

Heh specs =)sooo the gamer =)

Liquids wise make sure to get 8 a day. The other's are good too like gatorade and vitamin water, but I can usually tell when I havent had enough water a day... LOL I usually end up just chugging 2 at the start and end of the day regardless if im thirsty so that during the day I dont have to stress as much.

Diet wise, are you looking ta diet diet or just be more food conscious / healtier? In general, like the other commenter said, dont go overboard cuz you feel like you've earned it but at the same time dont eat too little or you will have NO energy to hang in there. I personally think that "DIET" diets are only good for like the first few weeks for those ppl that are really out of shape/have a lot of fat to lose to kinda stablize themselves... Like I say Im on a diet, but really at this point im just watching how much I eat more vs. and acutal plan.... but I have a few diets down now in my arsenal if you wanna know more bout them.

Well, that would be excellent! I'd say either respond on here or make a seperate post about said diets!

And yeah, I'm not in any real danger or anything. This diet is more of a personal stance to work on improving my looks/physique/health.

if you are trying to get down in weight, doing cardio is a start but you also need to lift weights. when you do cardio, you end up losing water weight and not fat. i am guessing that you are trying to be tone and have define muscles, my suggestion would be to do about 3 sets and 12 reps or so with a minute or two break in between.

60 minutes of cardio is a great routine for fat burning, especially if you are keeping a slow pace. That is, according to the anaerobic threshold / VO2 Max theory.

I found that my gym has the video game bikes too -- Expresso, right? The game is awful, and it doesn't save my scores. But, it's still better than "Stare at the Wall" or "Try to read the Fox News in closed caption" game that the other bikes use.

"my routine has been to ride the exercise bike for 30 minutes (keeping a steady pace of about 65-70mph"

Holy shit, have you thought about competing in the Tour de France, because that's a hell of a top speed. ;-)
