Survival Instinct - OTA

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains. Never was the truth more plain than during the recent attacks at Netherfield Park, in which a household of eighteen was slaughted and consumed by the horde of the living dead.

"My dear Mr. Bennet," said his lady to him one day, "have you heard that Netherfield Park is occupied again?"

Mr. Bennet replied that he had not and went about his morning of dagger sharpening and musket polishing -- for attacks by the unmentionables had grown alarmingly frequent in recent weeks...

Her eyes were glued to the page as she sat curled up on the couch in the game room, riveted. Her heart was pounding in her chest and it hadn't even gotten to the gory bits yet. Zombies always scared her. In fact, she spent just about ever horror movie she'd ever seen hidden under a blanket or with her hands covering her eyes. So why did she continue subjecting herself to it if it bothered her so much? Honestly, she had no idea. She jumped. She squealed. She hid. And she got nightmares and yet she did it again. Being scared was kinda fun when she knew she could put the book down or shut off the movie.

Angel found this book already in the game room. Someone must have left it. The concept seemed ridiculous. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies? It was literally butchering a classic. However, from the first page she was engrossed. So much so, she didn't hear someone  entering the room until they were right next to her. She didn't even need the alarm pheromone. Upon seeing movement out of the corner of her eye, Angel screamed, jumped and scrambled off the couch. No, sir, she wouldn't be eaten by zombies today.
