Hope stood back and surveyed the damage she had done to her lab. While at the time the highly volatile mixture of explosive chemicals had seemed like a brilliant idea now that she could see what they had done, she regretted her decision. All she had wanted to do was wake the camp, block a door and perhaps provide a little light. Instead, she had a hole in her lab, most of the samples, if not all, were contaminated and her poor, beautiful lab equipment was destroyed. She sighed to herself.
It was going to take some time to get it up and running again. One of the dorms needed to be repaired and then there was the little issue of the missing Captain Sykes. The ambush had been very effective and Hope was quietly impressed with the attacking force. Of course, they wouldn't last long against the mutants in the camp without the element of surprise. Except, they had to be expecting retaliation and rescue. They were probably prepared.
"It's not your department, Hope," she muttered under her breath, shaking her head slightly. "Let the soldiers handle the fighting."
With her lab destroyed, by her own hand, what was she to do besides turn on her heel and head for the more intact medical building. After the battle, there had to be some people who needed patching up. She might as well get down to her other job. She was a doctor after all.
