Mark Watches

Mark Watches is quite possibly my favorite site for television reviews. He watches recommended television shows, one episode a day, one review a day, and last spring he did Avatar the Last Airbender. Which quite possibly was the most glorious and wonderful experience I have ever been through. I had watched Avatar years after the fact and was spoiled to the majority of the series, so I was majorly late to the party and the show wasn't... the same. I saw everything coming, and there was no magic from watching a series for the first time, unfolding before your eyes and devising theories based on barely revealed information.

Mark went in blind. He watched it slowly, savored every episode and wrote a blog about the experience, describing his theories and his emotions and wondering what the clues all meant and it felt like I was there. It felt like I was watching the series for the first time, when it was first aired. It brought tears to my eyes and I was just... I was so happy.

Avatar the Last Airbender is one of the best television shows, in terms of storytelling, writing, character development, plot development and character growths. It has some of the most beautiful character arcs I've ever seen and it's animation is in my top five, even though several years have past. And Mark let me watch this from the beginning.

So, Mark Watches is kind of like.... some magical deity to me, and I'll eat my own liver before claiming otherwise.

Not my point.

Several months ago, a favorite fanfiction author of mine started posting Buffy the Vampire Slayer fanfiction and I gave it a shot. I fell in love, because I'm a slut for good writing. I will read things I'm morally against if it's written well, ngl.

Anyway, I decided to give Buffy the Vampire Slayer a shot, and have been scrounging around to get the dvds from female-relatives-that-won't-be-mentioned-by-name-but-are-really-pushy-and-nosy, and are like... a week away from getting them.

Mark Watches has decided to review Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I NEED THOSE DVDS NOW > <
