I got my hair cut today. It used to look like Merida's from Brave, only brown, frizzier and with less defined curls, and was always how I imagined Hermione Granger's hair to be (Emma Watson's hair is absolutely beautiful, but after the second movie, it was wrong.). I wanted a change before I went up to Western, and wanted to start my hair over (so ( Read more... )

We totally have the same hair, except mine's red--I had random people on the street calling me "Brave" when the movie came out. It took me forever to figure out how to control the frizzies, but I've never had the guts to cut it short. 9" off? Wow!

Oh god, having the same exact hair might be worse xD Getting attention and being recognized when you might not want it isn't fun. I've never been able to manage the frizz (I blame Washington weather) and getting it chopped was one of the scariest things I've ever done! It looks like Tina Fey's Liz Lemon from 30 Rock now xD

...I loved your hair the way it was. I'm really glad you like the result though! It is so awesome that the instructors were supervising their students.
Did your neck hurt after the cut? I got over twenty inches cut off a few years ago and I remember the neck cramp.

I didn't like the lower half of my hair, it was all split ends, and I wanted to give my hair a new chance. I greatly prefer having long hair, but years of "being too cool to care for hair," using Barbie hair brushes (I was a kid!) and messing with it too much for cosplay have left their damage. My hair looks like Tina Fey's Liz Lemon's hair from 30 Rock now. The salon was really cool :)
Didn't hurt, but my neck is pretty cold now xD 20 inches? Holy hell
