I've been working for Target about a year now, and for the most part, it's an alright job. I mean, it does have it's totally god-life-sucking-terrible days, but really, that's any job. I'm 17 and I'm an Electronics Team Member. So, I have two questions ( Read more... )

i have worked for target for nearly three years. i started as a seasonal temp when i was 16, and they kept me for a part time cashier position. this past summer, right before my 19th birthday, they asked me to apply for the GSTL position. i worked full time for about three months, and now i work as a part time GSTL. well...if you count 32 hours a week plus another job plus 5 days of classes part time. but thats a rant for another day. as long as you can promise them a decent availability im sure specialist isnt out of the question. as for transferring, ive never done it but it seems like target is very open to transferring people no matter if they are a minor or not, ive heard of kids transferring to targets closer to their colleges and then coming back to their original one for summer break. i would probably go to the target you want to transfer to and talk to the ETL-HR. and talk to your ETL-HR about the transfer as well.

hope this helped =)

I started Target as a cashier when i was 16. when I was 18 i got promotomed to a specialist and when I was 19 I got promoted to a TL. the other target might just have 1 electronics person all the time, they might have just 1 all the time. i do. im the ele tl and we never have mor ethen 1 person schedualed unless there is a scan, or for a big release (ex. halo 3) but other then that its just 1 person. if you want to transfer though talk to your HR and they should be able to help you transfer.

promotion is very easy with target. all you have to do is keep an eye on the promotional opportunities board for updates and then apply for any positions.

also, if you want to transfer, you have to talk to your HR first and they will get in touch with the store you want to go too.
