What would you suggest for a cake-cutting song (ie, an alternative to "The Bride Cuts the Cake" or, on the opposite side of the spectrum "Pour Some Sugar On Me" -- basically something not on a Top 10 Cake-Cutting Song List.)

One of my cousins used "when I'm 64" and I thought that was adorable.

There's also Sugar Sugar by (the archies?) if you want to be cute. :)

How about "Cuts like a knife" by Brian Adams?

(I also like "When I'm 64" - I really liked how that one worked.)

Also, I love Shonen Knife's cover of "Top of the World" by the Carpenters.

And, maybe you could use "The Sweetest thing" by U2, also.

Hahaha, "Cuts like a knife" was actually on a cake-cutting songs Top 10 list!! I am actually tempted to be all ironic... but Bryan Adams annoys me.

I was thinking of using "The Sweetest Thing" because it's by a good group and has the sweet thing in there without it being too obvious. Or "When I'm 64," but that's been used a lot (at least in my wedding-centric world).

I like teany's U2 idea but I also appreciate the "Ice Cream" suggestion. I like that song and the food is kind of a cousin of cake.

I've actually never noticed the music for the cake cutting before... (And I've been to a LOT of weddings!) Except for one song, a few times they played flight of the bumblebee, and did the cake smash dance! :-D
