We the moderators at Whispered_Past have received your application for membership of our community. However after much discussion it is with great regret that I inform you that your application has been rejected. As I'm sure you're aware, due to the nature of our community we take the privacy of our current members very seriously and as such being that your journal is so new we can not in good conscious add you to our list.

We are sorry for the delay and hope you have better luck at other communities.

I am new to LJ and as such, I am very unsure of the 'workings' of LJ and its communities or even how to 'properly' apply. I am not new to surviving and that is why I was desperately searching for a site where other survivers spoke, shared,broke the 'silence', and where it was safe to share. I am an incest surviver and I thought I was applying to a Community where I would 'fit in'...for lack of a better way to explain. I'm sorry if I applied to the wrong place and yes..someone in another Community has reached out to me and I am slowly learning, not only how to use LJ, but also how wonderful it feels to receive 'warm & welcoming' words from another human-being...diane

Dear Diane

Firstly let me start out with assuring that you have applied to our community in the correct fashion. I ask that you not let this rejection hinder you from applying to other survivor communities in the future.

However let me continue by stating that though I am sympathetic to the fact you are a survivor and have been for many years, my first responsibility has to, and will always be to the current members within our group. I do not want you to feel as if you have applied to the wrong place; we encourage both members and non-members of our community to seek out other survivors online to talk with.

I must apologise if the message you received seemed cold and unwelcoming, however due to the fact your journal is still new it with regret that I notify you that my current discussion still stands.

Sorry for any distress this may have caused you.
