I have to say--your first paragraph, there, I thought we were beginning a "once upon a time" story. It just sounded so wonderfully strange and delightful. A deaf politician? Named Gumption Green? From a party called Tree Pretty? And she's deaf? Oh, I want to read this story!

I love this entire post. Sounds like a fantastic job.
