I've quietly snuck up the new Alternative Bring and Buy website. It's not fully browser tested yet, but if I don't get something up there now now now, then the sale will be over before the website is launched ( Read more... )

the JS code on the banners page isn't working with FFox

Not working with Konqueror either. :P (ie. it selects the code, but then reloads the page). The sIFR stuff behaves though (no flash here).

I'll try it on Chrome when I get home, but here at work it's fine on IE.

all looks really good, only problem i'm having on IE at work is that the map isn't showing up.

Hmm.. no JavaScript? I'll put in a noscript thingie and see if that helps.

Cheers for testing! :)

Oh - and did you find someone to go to Monkey for cheap? Coz if you didn't I'm still keen to go..?!

works fine for me, and I use IE (still haven't installed firefox on the laptop since the great blue screen of death!)

All links, maps, banners, page jump buttons are working fine from my end! (the placing of thr box on thr front page is my fave bit :oP)

Seems OK with my firefox (on linux). I never see any working javascript on any sites at all (I use the noscript extension) so I didn't really notice its absence. No map, of course, but nothing else seemed broken.

My only comment would be that I found it really difficult to read - probably more the fault of my old eyes than anything else, but the grey text on black background was almost illegible to me. There wasn't enough contrast for me to see the words clearly and I really had to strain to read it.

Apart from that, it was a lovely clean, simple and efficient design. So nice to see that after far too many overloaded, cluttered pages. Well done!

Cheers for your comments - I'll check the colour contrast thing out and lighten it. I'm usually really strict on those things - but because it was a non-work thing I was a little lazy.. heh

I'll also get a noscript happening for the map!!! ;)
