I actually quite like the way adverts are getting more targetted - it means I'm bombarded with fewer irrelevancies, and am more likely to find stuff that's of interest to me.
But search results are more concerning. Geolocation's one thing (I love being able to search for a local venue), but filtering 'news' by expected interest/views is not good.
I'm also a little disturbed that google has guessed that my twitter name is probably the same as my gmail account, and has occasionally started letting me know that the link I just found was recently tweeted by one of @shrydar's friends. Thus far it's just been fairly innocuous things like weather radars, but still, I really should ask the friends in question if they know google's doing that..
